In the first ODI of Bangladeshi tour of New Zealand, today at Christchurch, New Zealand beat Bangladesh by 77 runs. In this match Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza was fined along with his team due to slow over rate.
During the batting of New Zealand, Bangladesh team was found to be short of one over in the specified amount of time. Time Allowances were in effect after that. Due to this reason, skipper Mashrafe Mortaza was fined 20% of his match fee. Not only Mashrafe, but the rest of the team was also fined under this allegation. The rest of the team, however, was fined 10% of the match fee.
New Zealand started off with a dominating win over Bangladesh in the first match. Tom Latham and Colin Munro really gave Bangladesh a difficult time in the field. Misfields of their own on various occasion added extra weight to the load. However, this was certainly not the best they have got. New Zealand leads the three-match series at 1-0 with today’s win.
The second ODI of the series is scheduled to be played on December 29 at Nelson. Bangladesh will be looking forward to save the series with a comeback win.
