With plenty of hype building up for the semi-final between India & Bangladesh, both teams are preparing for their most important game of the tournament yet. India seems to have come back stronger from their defeat against Sri Lanka in the second group game.
In a “do or die” match against South Africa in Birmingham, India totally outclassed De Villiers’ men. South Africa started strong but due to the fall of some quick wickets, they failed to cross the 200-run mark. Needless to say, this was a mere stroll in the park for the Indian batsmen where they managed to finish the game with 12 overs to go and 8 wickets remaining. In the post-match interview, skipper Kohli acknowledged how happy he was with the team’s performance.
Going into the semi-final in tremendous form, the Indian captain hinted that they won’t show any mercy. Virat Kohli said, “It would not have mattered who we were playing in the semis. The league phase is the toughest. We have an opportunity to win one game and enter the finals. Everyone wants to see an India-England final. If both teams play well, people might get what they want to see.” The aforementioned quote clearly illustrates that the Indian Team will obliterate any team that comes in the way of them getting into the finals.

This, of course, poses a huge test for the Bangladesh cricket team. Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza expressed the team’s happiness in getting into the semis. Mashrafe said, “This sort of performance really helps us to move forward, especially with the 2019 World Cup (in England) coming up.” However, he also stated that they are keeping their feet on the ground by keeping realistic expectations.
After all is said and done, all cricket fanatics would love to see a match where both India and Bangladesh give their all and fight till the end.
